Cat Carris, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Cat is from the east coast and has a background in fine arts and arts administration. She started in the animal care field 15 years ago as a volunteer at a state and federally licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic in Philadelphia. She worked her way up through the fostering program, became an employee and began managing shifts where in she decided to go back to school and become a credentialed Veterinary Nurse. In the spring of 2003, Cat received her Associates in Sciences from the Harcum College Veterinary Technician program which is under the direction of the University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine, where she served her 6 month practicum. It was during this time she learned from her husband that they would be relocating to the foothills of Colorado, once her practicum was completed. Cat was certified in Colorado in 2003 and has worked in emergency care, day practice and wildlife rehabilitation. Cat has known and worked with Dr. Georgiades since 2004 and has been a part of Just For Paws since 2008. She and her husband have a full house with 2 amazing little girls; an awesome shepherd mix who’s a great singer; 4 remarkable cats, one which is famous at JFP! And a couple of sweet old reptiles. Cat still loves working with wildlife and exotics; and there are rumors that in her spare time she reverts to be an artist-at-large and culture vulture from her pre-animal life…
